Ethiopian Global Ventures (EGV) are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team, with a special focus on managing accounting tasks related to import and export by Ethiopian regulations. This role is not just about managing numbers but also about playing a key part in the international growth of our company. You will be responsible for ensuring financial compliance, optimizing tax strategies, and providing insightful risk analysis to support our business objectives.
Our ideal candidate is someone who not only brings a strong background in accounting but also possesses a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in import and export within the Ethiopian context. Your expertise will be instrumental in navigating the complex financial landscapes and regulatory requirements of international trade.
- Duties & Responsibilities
Import and Export Accounting: Demonstrate expertise in accounting related to import and export activities, complying with Ethiopia’s regulatory requirements.
Financial Reporting: Prepare periodic financial reports adhering to accounting standards and ERCA requirements. Ensure submissions are on schedule.
Tax Management: Handle all company taxes and settlements with ERCA, including reconciling IT/WHT/VAT ledgers against monthly declarations/payments and managing tax claims.
Review import cycle & its related documents (PR.PO Performa Invoice, Shipping Documents LCs/Payment methods and shipping costs.
Calculate Shipment total costs per single shipment to predefine company profit & loss.
Calculate foreign currency deviations and claim the vendor differences to save company rights.
Software Proficiency: Required fluency in Peachtree (Sage 50) accounting software and Excellent User Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Compare Shipment Invoice vs Platform inventory reception to clear any variances and save company rights.
Payroll and Income Control: Administer payrolls and control income.
Auditing: Conduct audits of financial information for accuracy and compliance.
Tax Planning: Provide strategic tax planning in alignment with current ERCA legislation.
Risk Analysis: Engage in financial forecasting and risk analysis.
Record Keeping: Record all payments and sales invoices accurately.
Payment Processing: Ensure all payments are thoroughly verified and authorized.
Cash Management: Manage cash and check collections, allocating them against customer receivables.
Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and year-end close processes.
Tax Reporting: Regularly report pending tax issues to the company leadership.
General Duties: Fulfill other related responsibilities as assigned by company leadership.
